Allah Taa'la didn't do it by chance that we have the similar facial features to our parents simply because of the scientific reasons. I personally believe that this face that I am betroth with are created this way so that every time I gaze into the mirror I shall see both of my parents. With that, I know that wherever I go, who ever I shall be, I'll be representing the face of both of my parents.
And when I grow older, we could see how our features are getting more and more the same with theirs. Probably because they won't be there with us anymore and Allah knows that we long to see them then. Also with that, He knows we need to see their faces even more.
